Chem-Dry vs. Steam Cleaning – Making the right choice
IIn a commercial setting, carpet and upholstery cleaning needs to be environmentally friendly, long lasting, healthy for your customers and employees and minimally disruptive to your normal business operations.
In traditional steam cleaning, saturated steam is used at an average temperature of 175ºC and pressure of 10 atm to clean surfaces. The principle: Steam cleaners, providing a large amount of over saturated steam mixed with chemicals and detergents, hygienically clean surfaces. This not only saturates your carpet with an excessive amount of water, it also represents a health risk when carpets left wet for 1-2 days becomes breeding ground for mold, mildew and bacteria.
Chem-Dry has a completely different approach to commercial carpet, upholstery and rug cleaning. We use a patented carbonating cleaning process. The principle is simple: Carbonation of a green certified and patented cleaning solution called “The Natural” gives rise to millions of microscopic CO2 bubbles that penetrate deep in carpets and lift even the toughest grime. These can then be extracted without the need for harsh chemicals and/or an excessive amount of saturated steam. The cleaning process is Drier, Cleaner, Healthier®. You can expect your carpets to dry in 1 to 2 hours.
