How does Chem-Dry offer a better carpet cleaning experience than other services?

Chem-Dry offers a unique approach to carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning based on the power of carbonation. In essence, a green certified and non-toxic cleaning solution such as Chem-Dry’s patented “The Natural” is carbonated and millions of microscopic CO2 bubbles are released. These penetrate deep in carpet fibers and lift grime and other debris from even the deepest layers to the surface from where they can be extracted. As compared to traditional steam cleaning, Chem-Dry does not use an excessive amount of water. In fact, Chem-Dry’s hot carbonating extraction system uses 80% less water. This translates to faster drying times and minimized risk of mildew and mold formation post cleaning. There are also no harsh chemicals and/or detergents involved in our patented cleaning process so it’s safe for kids and pets.

How often do you suggest I have my carpets cleaned?

To be honest, most manufacturers recommend that any carpeting you have at home should be professionally cleaned every 12-18 months. This is because carpets can act as a sort of filter and collect all sorts of grime and other debris. Vacuuming on a regular basis can alleviate the problem but to a limited extent only. Professional cleaning is required for a deeper and more thorough clean and to keep carpets hygienic.

Won’t cleaning my carpets regularly cause them to wear out faster?

Quite the opposite actually! Carpets collect significant amounts of dust, grit and soil. With time, they can lose their luster and look “tired”. Vacuuming is a short-term solution; a vacuum cleaner, no matter how powerful, cannot remove soils that attach themselves deep down to carpet fibers. Regular carpet cleaning by a trained technician will extend the life expectancy of your carpets and keep them hygienic and looking noticeably cleaner, healthier and fresher. It eliminates many of the causes why people sometimes find themselves having to replace carpets and soft furnishings before their time including accumulated grit and destructive mites.

Does Chem-Dry’s approach to carpet and rug cleaning result in a longer lasting clean?

As a matter of fact, yes! Many carpet cleaners including steam cleaners are known to use soaps and detergents in their process. These chemicals, in addition to being harsh, leave behind residues that attract dirt and leads to quick carpet re-soiling. Chem-Dry uses a different approach. We stay clear of soaps and detergents using instead an all natural and biodegradable patented cleaning solution. It leaves behind no sticky residues. Our cleaning process also leverages the deep cleaning power of carbonation.

Are Chem-Dry products safe for kids and pets?

Promoting a sustainable environment and healthier households is at the forefront of what we do at All Star Chem-Dry. From our patented low-moisture cleaning process to our green-certified cleaning solutions, we are dedicated to reducing our impact on people, pets and the environment. For a start, Chem-Dry uses 80% less water than typical steam cleaners. And secondly, all of the ingredients in Chem-Dry’s primary cleaner, “The Natural” are FDA-approved. We do not use soaps or detergents in our process.

Should I vacuum before you arrive?

That won’t be necessary. We do however recommend that you prepare your home before our technician arrives on site. In particular, move breakables such as expensive flower vases, paintings, photo frames and lamps to a separate room or to a safe place to avoid accidents. Also move light furniture such as plant stands and low coffee tables to make more room for thorough cleaning. Stow away anything on the floor that may constitute a tripping hazard such as a pair of boots or children’s toys. And if you have a pet, take the necessary precautions to keep it away and safe.

How long will it take for my carpet to dry completely?

Drying time for carpets, rugs and upholstery depends on a few factors including humidity levels, airflow to the room and the type of carpet. For example, turning on your air conditioning will accelerate dry times. But generally, since Chem-Dry uses a patented cleaning process based on hot carbonating extraction rather than the gallons of water that typical steam cleaners use, you can expect your carpet to dry in 1 to 2 hours.

Can you remove all kinds of stains?

Some carpet stains and blemishes are more difficult to eliminate than others. In particular lipstick, permanent marker, pet urine and blood require special treatment. But rest assured that Chem-Dry has an arsenal of safe and effective stain removal products and innovative equipment to deal with even the toughest stains and nastiest spills. Our claim: If we can’t get it out, no one can!
